LIKE ACROSTICS, MESOTICS ARE WRITTEN IN THE CONVENTIONAL WAY HORIZONTALLY, BUT AT THE SAME TIME THEY FOLLOW A VERTICAL RULE, DOWN THE MIDDLE NOT DOWN THE EDGE AS AN ACROSTIC, A STRING SPELLS A WORD OR NAME, NOT NECESSARILY CONNECTED WITH WHAT IS BEING WRITTEN, THOUGH IT MAY BE. THIS VERTICAL RULE IS LETTRISTIC AND IN MY PRACTICE THE LETTERS ARE CAPITALIZED. BETWEEN TWO CAPITALS IN A PERFECT 100% MESOTIC NEITHER LETTER MAY APPEAR IN LOWER CASE. Eric Gunther is a designer, programmer, and musician based in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

From nine to five he works at the Small Design Firm, creating interactive installations for museums and institutions around the world. He graduated MIT with a BS and Masters in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Working with the Interactive Cinema Group and Sile O'Modhrain at the MIT Media Lab, he began his research into using the sense of touch as a compositional medium.

Eric has performed internationally with sosolimited, a four-man crew of audiovisual artists. Under the guise of Cephalopod, he is also a dancer - working with the illusory styles of popping - and a beatboxer, weaving intricate musical compositions with his mouth.
